LAMÈQUE, June 7, 2017– The 2017 Annual Fundraising Campaign of La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc. was officially launched this morning in the conference room of the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre.
The purpose of this ceremony, with a number of guests and dignitaries in attendance, was to publicize the projects that will be undertaken as part of the 2017 annual campaign, to thank the members of the various committees, to highlight the contributions made by donors, and to announce the final result of the annual campaign.
The financial objective for this year’s campaign was $40,000. A total amount of $63,623 was announced and will be used to improve the Medical area, the Laboratory, and treatment of chronic conditions. The campaign will also support various regional projects.
“This year’s campaign was affected by the ice storm and two fundraisers unfortunately had to be postponed and cancelled. Our campaign was a triumphant success in spite of the elements,” said Yoland Chiasson, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
The mission of La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc. is to raise funds in support of the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre’s development priorities in order to meet our community’s changing needs effectively.
