Lamèque, December 3, 2025 – At its annual general meeting, the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Center (CSC) Foundation unveiled its 2024 report, which highlights significant achievements and impressive community momentum. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the commitment of volunteers, and the support of partners, the Foundation continues its mission to improve the quality of health services in our region.

Message from the chairperson, Mrs. Norma Aubut
“On behalf of La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc., I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our volunteers, donors and partners for their exceptional dedication throughout 2024. Together, we have once again demonstrated the strength and generosity of our community.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the volunteers whose commitment inspires us, to the donors who believe in our mission, and to my colleagues on the Board of Directors for their constant support. Thanks to you, the Foundation continues to play a vital role in improving health care for everyone in our region.ʺ
Annual Campaign: a collective triumph
The 2024 campaign, supported by 708 donors and the unwavering commitment of volunteers and partners, raised $93,718, exceeding its goal of $49,150.
These funds have helped to purchase essential equipment such as a geriatric chair, an electronic blood pressure monitor, a wheelchair, and ergonomic mobile benches, optimizing the daily lives of caregivers and the comfort of patients.
A united community
Significant events such as Northern Star, the Roses Radiothon (with the women’s ATV rally and Walk 1 km in my shoes), and the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in Shippagan have strengthened the region by helping to acquire specialized equipment, providing support to patients, and offering spiritual care.
Staff support and recurring donations
The Foundation awarded $3,169 in scholarships to two employees for specialized training. These scholarships will enable our employees to take specialized training courses and acquire new skills that will directly benefit our patients and the entire team, boosting skills and quality of care. The monthly donation program is progressing, ensuring stable support for local initiatives.
Tangible benefits for the community
Your contributions have had a tangible impact through judicious allocation: $5,948 Patient care-related sectors (18%); $12,562 for sectors related to diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up (38%); $10,000 for regional projects (30%); and $4,563 for regional projects (14%).
