A TOTAL OF $72,822 TO PROVIDE THE STAFF WITH THE EQUIPMENT THEY NEED TO IMPROVE CARE

Annual General Meeting

LAMÈQUE – La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc. held its annual general meeting for fiscal year 2014-2015 last night.  Board of Directors Chairman Roger Chiasson took the opportunity to present a positive report of activities for the past year, which contributed to improving the care and services offered in the following areas: $39,464 – patient care (54 %), $17,328 – Diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up sectors (24 %), $14,874 – Specialized regional services and fight against cancer (20 %) and $1,156 – Continuing education and other sectors (2 %).

In the past fiscal year, the Foundation gave the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre a total of $72,822 to provide the staff with the equipment they need to improve care. “Your donations or participation in our various activities make several achievements possible.  Thanks to all volunteers who give of their time as without them it would be difficult to accomplish all that the Foundation does in a year”, said Mr. Roger Chiasson, chairman of the Board of Directors.

The Foundation also took advantage of the meeting to recognize donors who have made a cumulative donation of $1,000, as well as everyone who, through their contributions, advanced to a higher level on the Foundation’s permanent wall of recognition, located near the facility’s main entrance.

The elected members of the Board of the Foundation are:
Yoland Chiasson (Chairman); Norma Aubut (Vice-Chair); Elisabeth Duguay (Treasurer); Shelley Robichaud (Secretary-Director of the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre), Léonce Larocque, Maxime Duguay, Mariette Duguay and Dr Dawn Marie Martin-Ward.

The mission of the Foundation is to represent the community and raise funds to maintain and improve health care services provided by the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre.
