Message from the Chair, Norma Aubut
“On behalf of La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc., I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our volunteers, donors and partners for their exceptional dedication throughout 2024. Together, we have once again demonstrated the strength and generosity of our community.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the volunteers whose commitment inspires us, to the donors who believe in our mission, and to my colleagues on the Board of Directors for their constant support. Thanks to you, the Foundation continues to play a vital role in improving health care for everyone in our region.ʺ

Annual Campaign: a collective triumph
The 2024 campaign, supported by 708 donors and the unwavering commitment of volunteers and partners, raised $93,718, greatly exceeding its goal of $49,150. These funds contributed to the purchase of essential equipment such as a geriatric chair, an electronic blood pressure monitor, a wheelchair, and mobile ergonomic benches, improving the daily lives of caregivers and the comfort of patients.

A united community
Flagship events such as the Northern Star, the Roses Radiothon (with the women’s ATV rally and Walk 1 km in My Shoes), and the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign in Shippagan have helped support the purchase of specialized equipment, bring comfort to patients, and maintain spiritual care.

Staff support and recurring donations
The Foundation awarded $3,169 in bursaries to two staff members for specialized training. These bursaries will enable employees to develop new skills that will directly benefit patients and the entire team, thereby enhancing the quality of care. The monthly donation program continues to grow, providing stable support for local initiatives.

Tangible benefits for the community
Your contributions have generated tangible results thanks to careful allocation: $5,948 – Patient care (18%); $12,562 – Diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up (38%); $10,000 – Regional projects (30%); $4,563 – Other regional projects (14%).
