LAMÈQUE – The tenth annual Valentine’s Brunch was held on February 22th. The event was organized by a committee of former employees of the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre. This year over 250 people attended the brunch, which raised over $5,340 for the 2015 annual fundraising campaign of La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc.
Since 2005 this event has raised over $46,720 which were used to improve the care services provided at the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre.
“I wish to congratulate and thank the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre former employees, as well as volunteers from La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc. for their commitment. Their dedication combined with the generosity of sponsors and the community participation, made this activity a success once again this year,” said Roseline Hébert, Chair of the Valentine’s Brunch Organizing Committee.
This year’s campaign objective was set at $50,000 to help meet the needs identified by the administrators of the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre. The equipment to be purchased and projects to be carried out this year will focus on patient safety, comfort and care, as well as on promoting and raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, on health professional development, and on completing some regional projects.
