Here is a summary of how we allocated funds this past year to once again improve health care services for people:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>$97,947 \u2013 Patient care, and diagnostic, treatment and follow-up services (84%);<\/li><li>$17,358 \u2013 Specialized regional services and services in the fight against cancer (15%);<\/li><li>$850 \u2013 Training and continuing education (1%).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These amounts form part of the nearly $1.5 million that the Foundation has supplied since its inception to improve health care services. These funds have maintained and strengthened existing services and enabled the establishment of new services for people here in our region. As an example, we would like to highlight a major donation from the Fondation communautaire des Pionniers et Pionni\u00e8res to purchase beds that will improve patients\u2019 comfort.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThank you for renewing your partnership with us year\nafter year. Thank you also to the organizers and\nparticipants supporting our various fundraising activities such as the Northern\nStar Campaign, the Valentine\u2019s Brunch and the Roses Radiothon\u201d, declared Mr.\nYoland Chiasson, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who ended his last term\nlast night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The past year was certainly marked by\nthe announcement of an important partnership in support of major renovations to\nbe carried out in our facility.
