{"id":2719,"date":"2021-11-17T12:14:39","date_gmt":"2021-11-17T12:14:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fondationhopitallameque.ca\/?p=2719"},"modified":"2021-11-17T12:14:40","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T12:14:40","slug":"the-northern-star-2021-for-the-health-of-our-people-at-home-first","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fondationhopitallameque.ca\/en\/the-northern-star-2021-for-the-health-of-our-people-at-home-first\/","title":{"rendered":"The Northern Star 2021, for the health of our people at home first!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BATHURST <\/strong>\u2013 Under the theme &#8211; <strong>Supporting our Health Initiatives at home<\/strong> &#8211; the Northern Star Campaign was officially launched by UNI Financial Cooperation and the 9 Northern New Brunswick Hospital Foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nine\nparticipating foundations are: Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation (<strong>Bathurst<\/strong>), Fondation H\u00f4pital de l&#8217;Enfant-J\u00e9sus\n(<strong>Caraquet<\/strong>), Fondation des Amis de l&#8217;H\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de\nGrand-Sault (<strong>Grand Falls<\/strong>), Fondation de l&#8217;H\u00f4pital\nR\u00e9gional d&#8217;Edmundston (<strong>Edmundston<\/strong>), Fondation de l&#8217;H\u00f4pital de\nLam\u00e8que (<strong>Lam\u00e8que<\/strong>), Fondation des amis de la sant\u00e9 (<strong>Campbellton<\/strong>), Fondation Dr. Romaric\nBoulay (<strong>Saint-Quentin<\/strong>), Fondation Les Ami. e.s de\nl&#8217;H\u00f4pital Stella-Maris-de-Kent (<strong>Sainte-Anne-de-Kent<\/strong>) and the Fondation Les Amis\nde l&#8217;H\u00f4pital de Tracadie (<strong>Tracadie<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Needs to be met for northern\nhospitals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfunds raised through the North Star 2021 campaign will be used to purchase\nseveral pieces of medical equipment in the 9 health care facilities to meet the\nneeds of our hospitals in order to continue to make a difference in the lives\nof the people in our community by allowing them to have access to quality\nhealth care close to home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a>Equipment for ambulatory care, a high performance\nincubator for newborns, cardiac monitors, Automated Breast Ultrasound machine,\nVarious equipment in all areas of professional services, including physiotherapy,\noccupational therapy, nutrition and speech therapy, 5 geriatric chairs, 2\nwheelchairs, a stretcher, renewal of Holter machines, a universal examination\ntable, a new piece of equipment (Doplex) for the high blood pressure clinic,\ncarpal tunnel project, hemodialysis treatment chairs, expansion project for the\nfamily medicine unit, bed in the intensive care unit and equipment for the\npalliative care unit.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mini-Trees are available now for $2, $5, $10 and $20 at UNI locations\nand in select businesses in participating regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab UNI is extremely proud to be a supporter\nof the annual Northern Star Campaign and to partner again this year with the\nnine participating foundations that are there to promote, support and improve\nthe quality of health and wellness services for the population in their\nterritory. Plus, it&#8217;s encouraging to see\nthe community get involved like this to improve our health care. I feel\ncomfortable and confident with the Edmundston hemodialysis team!&#8221;.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The evening of the lighting of the dedicated trees,\nthe fairy figurines and the community trees near the hospitals will take place\non Wednesday, December 1. More than 200 trees will be illuminated in front of\nour hospitals.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Northern Star<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Northern Star Campaign is a collaborative activity organized\nthrough a strong partnership between UNI Financial Cooperation and the 9\nNorthern New Brunswick hospital foundations. This event, which began in 2006,\nhas raised over $1.2 million which has been invested in equipment to improve\nhealth care in our region!
